How often does a Dyson filter last?
Dyson estimates about 12 months at 12 hours a day, shown as a countdown on the unit. Heavy use, pets or wildfire smoke shorten that. As with the others, HEPA and carbon are bonded together, so you bin both even if only the carbon is spent.
Why Dyson filtration gets expensive
A £60–£90 filter every year is the highest ongoing cost of the mainstream brands. The airflow through a slim tower is also modest, so clean-air delivery per pound spent is low compared with a high-airflow box on cheap standard media.
